Training & Masterhood
I am going to talk to you about 'masterhood', and training.
There are, in my opinion, four degrees of master:
1st Degree: Someone who, after studying psionics for a year or so, and cannot advance further, assumes that he has reached the limit of development, when in fact he is still a beginner.
2nd Degree: Similar to First, someone who has become slightly skilled, and cannot move higher.
3rd Degree: Someone with a significant amount of power, but recognizes that development is unlimited, and that he/she still has even higher places to reach.
4th Degree: Someone of true advancement, whose powers are as close to omnipotence as one can get.
Now, I consider myself the 3rd degree, simply because I fit that bill. I can say, however, that most (99 out of 100) will never even reach the modest level that I have. Why? Because they do not really want to. Everyone says they want to become truly powerful, but they dont want to work for it. To achieve masterhood, you have to earn it. This takes risk.
I am accomplished in martial arts as well, and I believe that you should spar with edged weapons, not blunted ones. This gives you the inclination not to be sloppy and get cut. Now, the downside is, you will get hit at some point. This summer alone, I have recieved a slash to the kneecap, and a shuriken wound to the left oblique muscle, while sparring. The price of real; skills is blood, it is as simple as that.
The same principle applies to psionics. I fractured two ribs recently while practicing levitation-I was jumping from a 30' roof and gliding, when I got distracted and took a tumble. Such is the price of failure.
The overall point here, is that unless you really commit, you will not pass the 2nd degree. I have reached my level because I eat, sleep, and breath psionics and martial arts. I have devoted my life to it, at the expense of a social life that flourishes. The downside-I have few friends. The upside-the few times I have had to apply my skills in actual combat against an adult opponent, I have won in short order-five seconds or less. I can hit quarters with a .30-30 rifle from long distances, and I can throw unbalanced knives into targets that are 3' wide and 50 feet away. I am not trying to brag, I am simply stating what happens when you commit yourself to a goal. You become what you strive to be. In my case, that is a living weapon. Someone with few weaknesses, and that is just as strong in mind and soul as he is body.
So, if you truly want to achieve your goals, you must devote yourself 100% If you give 110%, you were not giving 100% to begin with.

I wish I had a master that could give a schedule on what to practice, it'd be a great help
I am a 3rd Degree as well. I do not want supreme power so you wont really see me try to reach my potential until i get into college so until 2015 i am most likely not going to be studying 100%

Who is the loser that gave me the thumbs down. >:|
Honestly I would put myself at........... Number four
Eventually im going to be stronger then that...i believe it....
Nice article shade.I have always said "power isn't obtained rather it is earned" its like you stole my words out of my brain O_o u a brain surgeon?
who's the jerk that keeps hitting thumbsdown on everything lol?
@horsyqueen: I would give myself an 8 out of 10-i can connect to others virtually instantly, and influence minds well enough that the person might as well be in another world. How good are you with it-TP is a less common skill, and I always enjoy finding others!
@Guardian24: Levitation is merely one skill. It simply depends on your aptitude. I have an inclination towards agility enhancement and levitation, but not all do. You must find the skill that is best for you.
intresting i wonder what i would be in telepathy and ESPs.
How advanced an ability is Levitation on a scale of 1 to 10!
One day i know that i will be on one of these(it is THESE or THOSE?) degrees. But for now i will focus to pass my university exam and to workout(healthy body help in certain psionics techs)
@ShadowWalker: I use clairsentience for schoolwork, so its moot with me...
You throw knives too? Knew I wasn't the only one.
Thats my goal. A living weapon. But, currently, I have to focus on my schoolwork. It's not even a matter of choice. I'm thinking I should learn chronoK, to give myself more time perhaps?
@Guardian24: It is merely a telling of what happens when you truly commit. Nothing more.
