1875, April 14 

Washington D.C.

Approx. time: 8:24 a.m.

I worked in the barn for a couple hours. Father was upset about my behaivior earlier today, when I lied during our conversation. As punishment, I'm not supposed to recieve my gift until I prepare to rest for the night. Leaving me with the pain of having to wait another night to use my gift. What was my gift exactly? My first Winchester rifle. It wasnt one, ment for a buffalo or a grizzly, but my first squirrel would make a nice trophy for my first hunting. My father said that when I grow to the age, I should inherit his  rifle instead... It was very sophisticated, mounting what my father said was a scope and was actually not as common as I had thought. I had heard about these scopes and always wanted to have one for my first gun. My father's rifle also consisted of a more 'blunt' edge to its fire now to mention its actual barrel. Whenever my father showed me it, he said that it could kill a man over 300 yards away, and no one would hear it. In fact, the birds could remain resting in their nest's from the awesome science that rifle possessed. 

Anyways, I was just finishing up on shoveling out the stalls  where my father kept three of his most prized horses. He never fully 'rode' them because he didn't want to attract attention from people standing about. Although, he did say they were as fast as lightning if needed. 

After shoveling the stalls, I spread some new hay within them, and then went to work on cleaning the horses hooves. I always loved cleaning their hooves for some odd reason, but never fully understood why. It just entertained me. 

I finished up that job and was making my way back to my house when Christina stopped me. 'Hi Alex.' she said smiling at me. I was always shy with girls even though I was 'perverted' as my dad had claimed. 'H-hi Christina.' my voice shook slightly by I strained, trying to hold my own not letting it show. 'what are you doing?' im getting ready to go back to the house Christina.'

'oh that sounds nice, maybe I could accompany you?' 

She was so beautiful, and she had such a cute personality. She played with words in a way that had me falling for her, whenever she spoke even if she wasn't speaking directly to me. 's-sure, heh.' 

'What's wrong? You sound unsure about something.' 

'I do? Er, um I guess I do, why?' she giggled at me sounding like the most beautiful song a bird could ever sing. It shook my heart and warmed it with her dashing looks and motions. 'what's so amusing Christina?' I asked. 'you asked me why you sounded unsure.' Instantly my face grew hot, and I became very embarrassed. 'O-o-oh, I-I'm sorry, heh. S-stupid me' I felt terrible. 'what's wrong Alex? Is something bothering you?' 

'I'm sorry Christina, i-it's just-' 'just what?' there was a pause and then Christina spoke again. 'here, let me make you feel better.' I was astonished as to what she even ment by that. 'W-what do you mean?' I asked. 'come with me' she said, 'I know something that'll make you feel better.' she took my hand and we were headed back into the barn. She led me into one of the stalls and leaned me up against one of the walls. She waited for a second with a curious smile, and then instantly.... She leaned over and kissed me. My face grew ten times hotter and turned five shades darker. She giggled again with her eyes closed enjoying her side of the experience. She had her hands behind her back and turned away looking at the ground, still smiling, and pivoting her foot. She was so cute, I just wanted to hug her and never let go. Then she turned back towards me and then said, 'don't act so sad all the time Alex. You're always hiding from me whenever I come around. I don't wanna make you sad Alex.' then she turned away and left. I stood there with my head down thinking to myself, 'what in sam's hell just happened... And  did she just kiss me? Why can't I see anything? Why is m-' and then passed out, and fell over into a pile of some of the horse manure I DIDN'T shovel.
