Successful Failures Part 1

This is simply inspiration for those who need it.

  • Henry Ford: Businesses failed and left him broke 5 times before successfully opening his well-known company, Ford.
  • R. H. Macy: Had 7 business failures before opening the successful department store, Macy's.
  • Soichiro Honda: He was turned down for a job as a Toyota Motor Corp. engineer. He made his own motor scooters, and his friends encouraged him to go further. Now we have Honda cars.
  • Akio Morita: Morita's company's first product was a rice cooker that cooked [and more often than not, burned] rice and sold less than 100 units. Now, Sony sells PlayStation 3 consoles to gamer kids and adults alike.
  • Bill Gates: Dropped out of Harvard, and started the failed business, "Traf-O-Data." Now he's a multi-billionare.
  • Walt Disney: Fired as a newspaper editor because he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas," he started many (now bankurpt) businesses. Who hasn't heard of Disney cartoons nowadays?
