Psi Active week 2: Results of Metaphysical survey
Since I cannot post links I will copy and paste everything here.
This was a united effort by the staff of the metapara to make the graphs, edit the layout, and general work.
We have recently sent out a survey to 10+ communities and or groups.
We sent this out on February 2, 2012 7:21 AM and from now (February 5, 2012 7:00 PM) we have received 71 results so far.
This survey was sent out with the intent of collecting data on the life styles that exist within metaphysical ,paranormal , occult, and esoteric communities/groups.
Charts:
Chart #1: As you can see, Psions (Psionics) made up the majority of all results with 45.1%(32 people), followed behind by Other which received 18 results.

7. How do you balance your lifestyle with your every day life, work, school, etc?
“I find that the more I travel into other parallel universes and see who I am as a whole being, all parts of myself, the more balance I achieve in every aspect of this life.”
-Anonymous
“Psionics is fully integrated into my life, when I need something done it’s reflex to use Psionics.”
-Anonymous
“Well, you have to stay organized with things. if you’re going to train 1 hour a day then do that after work or school, during the same time you would have normal workouts in a gym or something just, different forms to condition your abilities.”
-Anonymous
“I wake up, take in energy usually. Either through water earth or wind. I focus on keeping my chakras equal. Through out the day at school I’ll read peoples energies or loom at thier guardians, as I’m a medium. If I’m bored at school, ill ballence my pen on my finger and make it tilt one way or the other. Though not often. Other than that I work on energy manipulation as much as I can. I often sense one or two people who are taking energy from others without knowing it. So I’ll shield myself and usually give them a little bit of sick energy cuz I’m not the nicest person. When I wait for the bus sometimes I will focus on making or pushing a hole in clouds. And when I run home some days, I work on my augmentation.”
-Anonymous
“I keep my self organised. I focus on my studies such as school when I am to school and focus on my abilities and such when I have free time. I push (Telepathically) people if I feel I need to, but other than that its making set times for yourself”
-Anonymous
“I just have a lot of spare time.”
-Anonymous
“Being a vampire is NOT a life style – Life style for me is dressing for work, playing a part to fit it. Balancing being a vampire and work is tricky, but I have been doing it for ages. I eat a mix of blood and rice at work everyday – No one is the wiser, I dress plane jane – I try to be myself the best I can, without raising questions.”
-Anonymous
“I tend to keep both separate from each other. I can never allow one to bleed into the other without there being consequences of some sort.”
-Anonymous
“I surround myself with friends that understand me. I don’t need nor want negativity in my life. It is a waste of my time and energy. I can do more good with my life by following this perspective.”
-Anonymous
“I think the most helpful thing for keeping my metaphysical lifestyle balanced with the rest of my life is working to really integrate my metaphysical practices with all of my life. Rather than metaphysics being something that I “practice” for a certain amount of time each day, it’s simply another dimension to my life as a whole–another sense I’m aware of, another aspect of the world that I take into account. For example, when I talk to people (at work, at school, at the store, etc) I’m aware of of what they’re feeling, sometimes what they’re thinking, integrated into our spoken (or unspoken) communication. When I walk into a room or take a walk outside, I’m aware of the energy of the area. I very frequently use various techniques to keep my own body and mind balanced and free of clutter. Anything physical–whether it’s physical exercise or giving someone else a massage (I’m a massage therapist)–also has an energetic component. And just like there’s certain things I have to do for the rest of my life (buy groceries, pay bills, look things up, meet with friends), so there are things that I have to do for my metaphysical life (meditate, study and research, work on various techniques, chat with spirits, etc). Looking at it holistically helps me to keep everything balanced.”
-Anonymous
Had too many great ones to just choose to post seven!
8. How and why would you suggest this lifestyle to someone else?
“It’s not something I would suggest unless one is naturally predisposed to it. People can’t become vampires willy-nilly; you have to be born into it. It is NOT a game. Needing to ingest blood has complicated my life and while I feel no moral imperative against vampirism as a whole, it is a very serious affair. I did not choose to become a vampire, I was born into it. Vampires cannot afford to live a fantasy world where they can disregard even their own morality. We exist in the real world and as with anyone, everything we do has consequences, both legal and otherwise. Look before you leap on this one, people.”
-Anonymous
“Day dreaming, imagination, sleep dreaming, meditating with out of body experiences, all help me find freedom from the fears that held me captive for so long. I wish that everyone could experience this freedom I’ve found. However, I realize that everyone must find their own way to themselves.”
-Anonymous
“It can change your life if you let it.”
-Anonymous
“Be open minded, yet keep your ground with beliefs that have hard evidence to carry them. Always look for hard evidence. Always practice, and keep it relatively secret as many people will judge you.”
-Anonymous
“It is a chance to do something you can only dream about, to venture into the impossible and become more then who you are”
-Anonymous
“Truly, the greatest thing about being a magician is the ability to experience the transcendent while still within the confines of one’s physical form. You get to experience the numinous anywhere you go, should you choose to. Should you keep a balance, life becomes far more interesting as you truly do live between the worlds. It is amazing.”
-Anonymous
“I do not impose my beliefs on anyone! If I am asked about my way of life I am happy to enlighten and teach. That is what is wrong with society today, trying to shove their beliefs down others throats.”
-Anonymous
“I would suggest this lifestyle to someone else who was curious (and not just a passing curiosity, but a deep, passionate curiosity) about how the non-physical world works. It’s a fascinating field of study, and usually when my practice comes up in conversation, that’s what gets communicated. Interesting information is just the beginning though–I look at my practice as an interactive relationship with the universe. That isn’t everyone’s passion, any more than everyone loves and wants to truly master sports, cooking, or art. Thus, while I have my practice and I think it’s very valuable to me, I don’t expect many other people to follow it.”
-Anonymous
“Honestly I would never suggest my lifestyle to anyone it is a personal choice and one I have struggled with myself. I feel we each need to find our own way and as a community we should support each others need for discovery. A strong sense of self makes a stable person be they human, vamp, fae or any other type of kin.”
-Anonymous
Sorry, there were just so many results I had to go a bit over seven.
Hopefully its not too much for anyone.
9. Where do you know where most of the best or most legitimate information on your lifestyle is at and why do you think it is best?
“Hm, the most legit information you find is the one you find yourself.”
-Anonymous
“It is in many places just gotta go where the universe leads you.”
-Anonymous
“Books by authors such as Jason Augustus Newcomb, T. Thorn Coyle, Phyllis Currott, Donald Michael Kraig, and Phillip Farber are my recommendation. However, one must be wise to follow their own path instead of rely on the words of any one magician. The crafting of one’s own path and the following of it fulfills the requirements for adept hood in my opinion.”
