Pranayama

It is the science of breath control. It consists of series of exercises especially intended to meet the bodys needs and keep it in vibrant health. Pranayama comes from words:

Prana=Life energy (same as chi or ki)

yama=Control

Ideally, this practice of opening up the inner life force is not merely to take healthy deep breaths. In our respiration process, we breathe in or inhale oxygen into our body, going through our body systems in a form of energy to charge our different body parts. Then we exhale carbon dioxide and take away all toxic wastes from our body. Through the practice of pranayama, the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide is attained. Absorbing prana through breath control links our body, mind, and spirit. Using pranayama we can energize 3 nadis (ida, pingala and sushumna). There is simply exercises to training that nadis:

Ida: Plug the right nostril with your thumb of right hand. Then draw the ki energy through the left nostril and down along the ida channel and into the 1st chakra and down through the 1st chakra into the earth along the hara line and into the earth star. Hold the breath for a count of 10. Then see the channel becoming bright radiant and strong. Breath out for a count of 6. Do this about 5 minutes.

Pingala: Plug the left nostril with your 1st finger of left hand. Then draw the ki energy through the right nostril and down along the pingala channel and into the 2nd chakra. Hold the breath for a count of 10. Then see the channel becoming bright radiant and strong. Breath out for a count of 6. Do this about 5 minutes.

Sushumna: Sit upright with your legs folded and keep your hands relaxed on your lap. As you intake air pull your belly inwards while heaving out your chest, your stomach muscles must be taut. Hold the breath and count 5. Then gradually exhale and relax your abdominal muscle. Wait for 2 seconds and then repeat the whole exercise. After you have mastered this technique, you should also try breathing alternating between the left and right nostrils. Block the nostrils alternately using the thumb and little finger of the right hand, while the remaining 3 fingers should rest gently between the eyebrows. 1st, breath in deep through the right nostril and breathe out through the left. Very slowly. Make sure that your stomach muscles are flexed considerably. Then change the process. Breath in through the left and out through the right. Repeat the whole procedure for sometimes. Do this about 10 minutes.

Check picture above. In this picture, kundalini rising through sushumna nadi (central channel). Yellow channel is pingala nadi and blue channel is ida nadi. When you do exercises above, you must visualize channels their own location. If you look that picture, you can see, where nadis are. When kundalini rise to 7th chakra, we get self-realization (we understand that one is whole and whole is one. We can see, we are divine light in physical body and our soul is eternal, and there is no beginning and no end).
