On Good and Bad

Okely-doke.

     Good. Bad. When have you heard these words? Nearly every day of your life. These words are set in stone and describe nearly every action or object in existence. No one has ever really bothered why to explain why everything is viewed as such. I did quite a bit of thinking into this and came up with a decent explaination.

How Good and Bad are Established

   There are actually no such things as good and bad. Good and bad are rather opinionated words. They are based off of what we would want to happen to us. For example:

  • Giving to the poor: If we were poor, we would enjoy being given to. We would like this to happen to us, so we see it as good.
  • Rape: If we were raped, we would emotioanl trauma for the rest of our lives. We wouldn't want this to happen to us, so we see it as bad.

In other words, morals are selfish.

How We Can Use "Good" and "Bad" for Personal Use

  •    In a lawsuit, we can twist the story a LITTLE bit to make our side appear "good" and the other "bad".
  •    If you get an answer wrong on an assignment, make your answer look "good" and the correct one "bad". Ypu might get away with it.
  •    If a girl chooses another guy over you, plan well and make him look "bad", and you "good".

Good and Bad themselves are nonexistent. The two are rather opinionated concepts. They can be described as selfish, ofr our morals reflect our values. Good and Bad are quite simple to underrstand, howver. Learning that they are nonexistent may bring a little more maturity on you in the future.
