What i think i know is that Ki is life energy used by the body to sustain our life. we can project it out in balls, blast, etc.... well if we project the energy our body needs to live would that mean by using ki you could be also shortening your life span?

flame1234 thats very logical, i suppose it can be looked at it like that. but look at it this way as well, after losing a certain amount of blood, people pass out, so the body dosent have to suplly blood to all parts of the body, just the important parts, then it tries to clog the hole releaseing the blood then it tries to make more so you dont die, unless you lose all blood/energy at one time( i.e. a very big hole or a very energy draining attack). our bodies are amazing things and will try EVERYTHING it can to survive

vaporwolf look at it this way if you have no energy left how can for example if you have a cut on your body it will recover but if your entire body is destroyed it cant recover.

and i dont think your body will use all of your energy cus of self preservation, but i personally think you cant die from useing all your energy, i just think you pass out and your body restores the energy

no, if you use up all 100% of you ki then you die but as long as there is about 20% ki left it will recover and fill up again.
