Hey all,Raven here,with the ninth chapter.Now,since we have school again,I will be publishing once a week,OK?So,enjoy!(Changed my signature again.The quote is not mine,but i love it!

CHAPTER 9:FUGITIVE

 

 

 

The next thing I remember,I was far away from my house.A forest,yes,but definately not next to my house.Near me,lied Shade,who had collapsed,obviously from the loss of power.Now,I'm gonna sound pretty insensitive—something I'm not—but I didn't give a damn about him.I left him right there where he was.I didn't try to help him.Because I just did not care.I was devastated from my mother's death.I didn't wanna cry.I just wanted revenge!I wanted to make the one responisble pay for his horrible crime.I was going to rip him apart,piece by piece—that's how I felt.But as I was thinking,laying down on a tree,I realised Shade was right.I couldn't do anything in this moment for that.As much as I wanted revenge,I could not have it.At least not now.If Shade,who,on my point of view,seemed invincible,wouldn't go up against those guys—the Big Seven, he called them—then none could.And I would learn to deal with that for the moment.As the time passed,I tried to forget it.But things like that,crimes like the one I had witnessed could not be easily forgotten,no.So,I tried just not to think of it.

Five hours had passed,it was almost midnight,when Jack ''decided'' to wake up.

“God,that feels like a hangover!”,he said when he finally regained consciousness.

“Where are we?”,I asked in a cold voice,trying to seem uncaring.What for?I guess I didn't want to reveal my sensitivity to him.

“Uh,I'm not really sure...”,he replied.

“What do you mean you're not sure?Are you nuts?”

“No,seriously,I have no idea.I just teleported us,aiming at Oklahoma,my home state,but I guess I wasn't powerful enoguh to do so.You see,flash-jumping isn't always that easy,trust me.It's a good thing I have been training since I was three years old.Otherwise...I guess we would have to take the bus...”

“And how the heck are we supposed to find out where to go?”,I asked.Obviously,I was angry...

“Well,you do have a GPS don't you?”

“Oh no!”

“What is it?”

“You really suck at teleportation,do you know this?”

“Okay,thanks for the compliment,now what happened?”

“My rucksack!I lost it in the middle of the... ride!”

“It must have been sucked through spacetime...”

“Really?Cause you don't sound so worried to me?How do we retireve it?”

“We...don't...”.I was furious.Bu then he continued. “Not in a way that I know of.But maybe,”,he said while seeking something in his jacket's pocket, “there is something in here!”

He pulled out of his poket a rusty,old,leather-bound journal,with some spirals ''carved'' on the cover of it.It looked...awsome!

“What is this”,I asked immediately.

He opened it,for it's writing to be seen.There were actually thousands of pages,hidden behind the book's magic.A part of it written in Theban—I only later found out what that was;an alphabet,commonly use by witches—,another part in runes,and some in English,Latin and Old English.Another part was written in Ancient Greek, too.It was handwritten of course.Each chapter witha different handwriting.All in calligraphy.Centuries of knowledge and experiences, all collected in one,single book.It attracted my attention from the first time I saw it.

“This”,Jack said, “is The Grimoire,also known as The Book of Knowledge.Hmm...I see”,he said while flipping the pages at immense speed,telekinetically. “Here it is!A ritual to find something that's lost.I'll try it later tonight,while you will be sleeping.”

“I've never heard of it,really,the Book ,I mean.But I have to admit it is definately the most amazing and ...impressive book I have ever seen.”,I said,clearly astonished.

“I couldn't imagine you'd like it that much.You can find information about everything you want in here.You just have to ask for it.New entries are added on their own.Well,not exactly on their own.The spirits of its previous owners write it.It will never be complete.It has so many spells and techniques that they could fill libraries.The most powerful are encoded in secret alphabets,and dead language.I haven't even read the one hundreadth of it.And it looks like it only has three hundred pages.Funny.It passed from John—my master and mentor—to me,and it now passes on to you.You are my apprentice.I am willing to learn you everything I know,and everything I will ever learn.The artifacts I have gained or inherited will pass on to you.Be careful!You should choose your answer carefully.Make the right choice.This will determine much more than just your own fate.You're very powerful,believe it or not.I will not make this offer again.I ask you now:Do you accept it?”

I was staring at him,not knowing what to say,with my jaw dropped.

“I accept.”.I don't know why I said this exactly.My feelings for that guy were mixed.I felt like we were friends from long ago.I just knew that this was the right choice.I followed my heart.Logic told me that I shouldn't trust a guy who was a stranger and teleported me miles away from my home.But,on the other hand,my instict was telling me to accept.It was screaming inside of me, trying to overcome logic and let me hear it.To let me listen to my heart.Always remember that: Trust what your instinct says and follow your heart.

Shade seemed pretty surprised from my response, and tried to understand how come I said ''yes''.

“Oh...”,he mumbled. “Nice!We start tomorrow.It's too late now.Just so you know,we're starting with some Energy Manipulation—also known as Lygokinesis—and then we get into Thermokinesis—heat inducing—which will finally lead you to Pyrogenesis—the actual creating of fire.”,he explained. “But there is something you should know.I sense that you are confused by your feelings.I'll asnwer your question.It's pretty simple:You know me, because I was your mentor in your past life too!Yes,Nick,past lives exist, as well.In order to retrieve the powers you had in your past life,and the practice you did back then to obtain them,we have to find the four Elemental Keys.They will awaken your memories.All gathered together, at one place.I'll also have to teach you some combat,when we have time.How to use a Celestial Blade and stuff.But first,I'll have to show you something!You will find it really exciting,I can definately promise that!”

“Okay,whatever you say.”,I agreed.

“Now,lay down,”,he said and I obeyed, “and relax.Completely.Let go of all your worries.”.I did what he said.

Suddenly,after a while,I felt something pulling me,upwards.

“Okay”,I heard Jack's voice. “Get up now and open your eyes.”

So,I got up,opened my eyes and started walking.Minus body...
