Fighting Styles

Okely-doke :P .

Today, we'll be going over types of fighting styles.

Close-range

This type of fighter likes to take things up close and personal. Expect quite a lot of melee from them.

How to Fight as One:

  • You're going to need to keep a small field at all times.
  • It's easy for you to fight a long-distance fighter at close-range because they aren't used to people like you.
  • Bring weapons. At such a close range, they'll either need a shield to constantly block you, or they'll run away. Or they may be a good close-range fighter and trash you.
  • THICK armor. You're going going to be right up there, and there's not much separating you and the opponent's weapon. Mail and Armor Suits are exceptionally good at stopping attacks.
  • Learn melee. Things like martial arts. At least learn punches, kicks, etc.
  • Create Openings. Many times, this can allow you to use close-range techniques. For example, rasengan is so easy to block that I need some type of opening to use it. Preoccupying the opponent with doppelgangers and explosions are good diversions.
  • Variations. Go unorthodox! You don't want someone reading you like a picture book.

How to Defend Against One:

  • Thick armor. They'll probably go in for the kill, so...
  • Move often. Melee attacks are straightforward, and moving out of the way can create a major opening.
  • Keep a large field. Keeping a large field will force them to use long-distance attacks, which they most likely will not be so great in.

Long-distance

A fighter like this will not stay around you. In fact, they'll fight you from far away.

How to Fight as One:

  • Projectiles. Arrows, kunai, darts, etc. These can distract the opponent.
  • Rapid succesion and high quantity. Less is more applies here. The less time you can shoot a bunch in, the more attacks will land.
  • Wide-ranged attacks. A nuke dropped will sweep an area, and not just one spot.
  • Keep a wide field. If not, you'll be boxed in and defenseless.

How to Defend Against One:

  • Little space and/or melee. These fighters need distance, and by closing in on them, they won't have time to fire.
  • Speed. This shuts out any chance they have of attacking.
  • Random directional movement. They will constantly need to change aim, and they will have less of a chance of hitting you.

I'm sure there are more, but the majority of those are plainly combinations of the two.

Prepare well, and you'll be a great fighter.

I mean, it's epic.

Do notice that the examples are only EXAMPLES, Roy.

Roy, I always make sure I can do things in the physical before posting them, with the exception of weaponry.

@Neurosis: "One" meaning what to do if you choose only that.

Actually Roy, these energy copies affect the physical realm too.

Fgopl..... you should tell these ideas to Masashi Kishimoto.... the writer of Naruto....

Unless you can do what you write... I wouldn't encourage you to write it....
talking about distracting an opponent with a Shadow Clone and then hitting them with a Rasengan is unrealistic.....

Just sayin' ... you can't make a physical clone of yourself.... in the present world...

Um... you mention this 'one' business. One what? A close range fighter? Do good fighters only stick to one style?

It's obvious that you DO need it, but... I won't argue with anyone right now.
