End-Game Chapter One

I looked down at my book. How stupid. The kid model in my Spanish book, had the blandest clothes on. No kid wears a plain orange shirt with no design or anything that made it unique. 'Marcus?' I looked up. My teacher was staring at me as if she wanted an answer. Thing is, she probably did. I stuttered.'Umm Could you repeat the question?' I could feel the whole class stare at me.'No, I will not repeat because--' The bell saved me, just in time. Luck, you don't love it but you don't hate it. I jumped out of my seat. I was mellow for a second or two, before I remembered it was first period. Ugh. At least second period was fun. It was english, and I was a beast at English, I had my way with words. It was fun we played a game, our group lost, guess group 5 would be getting prizes on Monday. On to period 3, science. Except it wasn't just normal science, it was advanced. Big whoop. We took notes, same old notes. Nothing new. We were learning about soil, which was boring but I gave my teacher a break because he was a good guy. Lunch. My favorite part of the day. I had too best friends, Thucky and Rosa which we called Rose for short. Well not really short but just a nickname. Thucky was vietnamese, smart and a good friend. Rose had red hair and was really kind. Oh about me? I almost forgot. My name is Marcus Sorux. I am 13/14 and go to Clifford Middle school. Not very flashy. Anyway, lunch had passed and I went to math. My least favourite subject in school and one of the ones I'm not good at. 'Marcus?' my teacher, Mrs. Finch stared at me. I thought to myself,' Where have I seen this before?' She could tell I was confused. 'Homework?' I looked at Rose, she stared back nervously. 'Well you see--' BOOM!! I huge shockwave rippled though the class, knocking everybody over. I hit the ground and rolled. My head hurt. There was a man with a black robe and a blacked out face that I couldn't see. 'SORUX!' My heart skipped a beat. 'Marcus! Run!' Rose looked at me and it seemed there was glowing orbs in her hands. But the point was that she didn't have to tell me twice. I bolted out of the room and booked it down the hall. I ran down the glass hallway. All I could think was, 'What the hell just happened?' As I was running another shockwave, more precise this time , came down the hallway. I jumped out of the way in the nick of time. Just not good enough. It hit my foot and I went skidding along the hallway. Ouch. I got up, with a nose bleed. I keep running, and hid into a closet. Rose materialized next to me. 'Hi....' She sounded like like I founded out a secret. Probably cause I did. 'Sorry...' Before I could ask 'what', she took an orb from her hand and threw it at me. The last thing I remembered was that the ground was cold when my face hit it.
