Does Everything Happen for a Reason?

This is something that has always plagued me. Does every decision we make happen for a reason? Is there some ulterior motive to our existence or are we just here for the hell of it?
There are too many coincidences in this life. I don't really believe in God, but sometimes I end up believing. What do you think? Does everything have a reason to happen?

Nothing is coincidence. And we aren't here "for the hell of it." In fact, we are here "for the heaven of it." The joy of existence, and the experience of life. We have a 'destiny,' and that is to CREATE our destiny. To create OUR experience. Things happen because you chose them to happen; consciously, subconsciously, and super-consciously (through the higher mind). Or, at least, this my understanding of it, and it's worked out brilliant for me. :)

Joax, as i see it, everything happens for a reason because we are SUBCONSCIOUSLY making it so. Our consciousness sends out our energy to change the world around us according to our conscious and subconscious desires. hence all the synchronicities and such. I like to think that we subconsciously create our lives to help our conscious minds grow and expand. just an idea.

Lightningbolt, that was off the subject, and the last part didn't even make sense. He asked if everything happened for a reason, and certainly, not everything is for good, simply for a reason that will shape the future.

everything is for the good! if you dont believe in god, wtvr cos i do and if you don't ,don't worry cos you will in the end of the day. dude, get this straight: believing is different than knowing
you don't have to be religious to belive in god! he is there! think of it as if your body and senses is like the matrix and the real world is after you die! as if god is NOT a human form...as if almost.....he IS IN free will ITSELF! maybe just once ask him for a sign! but just be carful because the sign will always feel like a co-incidence because otherwise if we saw that god existed we would have had no free will because of his greatness!

I get such feelings like yours. But i believe people are supposed to be what they are , they shouldnt be told that this is what they have to be. If someone is supposed to save the world, they will be born with the bravery, courage and all the qualities necessary. Thats my view

Ey yo personaly I believe that nothing happens for any reason because we have free skill. And coincedences are just that. And the choices we make effect the future in some way. But you know that doesn't matter cause whatever happens you just go with it and make more choices.
