Deep Trance Meditation
Hello all, I have a much-requested technique of mine to share with you.
~Deep Trance Meditation~
DTM is a state of rest far deeper than normal sleep. Two hours of DTM is the equivalent of eight hours normal sleep. It does take some practice, so be warned. Another thing-set an alarm! If you fall into DTM it is hard for your body to wake before a sleep period (eight hours) has gone by.
Let's get started.
Assume your normal meditation state, i.e. clear your mind. Once your mind is thoughtless, begin to focus on each major muscle group of the body, relaxing it slowly. Do this for the entire body. Obviously lying down is the best position for DTM.
Once your body is relaxed, it's time to lower your consciousness as well. Envision yourself floating low over a black lake. Gradually move lower and lower. Shut out all physical impulses.
When you feel as though you no longer even have a body, once again clear any stray thoughts. Then drop into the lake, and envision a cool blackness surround you. Within the blackness, close off your mental awareness.
What you are doing here is manually shutting off physical and mental processes before sleeping. It causes you to be far more rested, in a shorter amount of time.
Have fun.
