Constructs Walkthrough Lesson 1
Okely-doke. You came to learn exactly what constructs are, and how you can go about their creation. You'll have fun with constructs in this educational miniseries. You constructs can do anything you could possibly want - You just need to learn how to make them! So, let's begin with Lesson 1 - What are constructs?
What Are Constructs?
Well, in essence, a construct is... I guess you could say a robot made up of energy. Constructs can be in any shape you want, and you can give them programming to do ANYTHING possible in the wide, wide world - because possibility is limited to your imagination. First, let me give you something to relate a construct to. How about... A cell phone. A cell phone is a device. It has the potential to do SOO much. The only catch is - you have to charge it, and choose the right phone for your goal. Well, constructs are the same. A construct is a shape made of energy. It has the potential to do ANYTHING. The only catch is - you need to give it energy and a way to prevent dissipation, and you need to make the right construct for the goal. For example, it's like how a hammer can't stick two pieces of paper together. You need to use glue.
A construct is energy created to carry out your will, and now we will learn about construct goals.
Creating the Right Construct For Your Purpose - Beginning With the End in Mind
As I mentioned earlier, a hammer is not the right object to use for sticking two pieces of paper together. You would need to use glue. Well, with constructs, you need to create the correct one. But, how can we know what the right construct is if we don't know what we want to do? Let's have an example.
You know how the 2012 Honda Pilot is such an awesome car? Well, Honda couldn't just have been winging it when they made such a beauty. They must have been desiring a smooth ride, nice entertainment, great sound, and one darn slick-looking car. For example, when they put in XM radio, they had been thinking of what provides nice entertainment, and found a way to get it.
With a construct, we need to start with the end in mind. I'll give a scenario.
Let's say fgopl needs to telepathically call greedtheavaricous. Greedtheavaricous and fgopl do not live close to each other, NOT AT ALL. Fgopl is away from chat and cannot contact greedtheavaricous there, either. What should fgopl do? Let's start with the end in mind. Fgopl needs a construct that can both pick up telepathic sending, and send telepathic contact over a long-distance. So, now, let's think of what can send things over long-distances: trains, boats, planes, and telephone poles. Fgopl should start with a telephone pole.
Now, he should create a construct INSIDE the pole, and add programming to send and recieve telepathic signals, and do so over radio waves being sent out of the pole. This will work, but won't his precious construct get destroyed by the nonstop flow of radio waves through? Let's find out how fgopl can protect his dear construct.
Construct Preservation - Shell it, Baby
How can fgopl save his construct from the pressure of radio waves, and still contact greedtheavaricous? Fgopl should protect his construct with a shell. What is a shell? Well, I'll use an example.
A turtle is not the strongest, and very slow with movements. These attributes make the turtle very easy prey for things such as eagles and snakes. These predators can simply come down, bite or dig talons into our dear turtle, and rip him shreds, swallowing him all the while. For this reason, the turtle has a shell on its back. This shell protects our terrapin from those no-good predators.
Fgopl should create a shell around the telepathy pole construct. He will put a whole bunch of energy around it. This should go all the way around, almost like a coat of lead. This way, the precious construct will not be ripped to shreds by the fangs and talons of the surrounding radio waves.
Now that he has protected it, shouldn't fgopl be worried about dissipation? Dissipation is what we call it when a construct runs out of energy, and begins to eat away at its own shell, and eventually fades away into oblivion. A good defense against this wrong-doer is a programming command to take in energy so it will not ever have a deficit of it. Fgopl should now tell it to constantly take in energy from outside, and use it to stay alive.
Fgopl has now successfully created a construct that outside forces won't destroy.
Is My Construct ALIVE?
This has always been a hard question to answer. A scientist might tell you that life requires cells, which are the building blocks of life. Technically, this is true, as you have cells yourself. Think of a basic construct like fgopl's, or just think of a psi ball protected from outside forces the same way that fgopl did. Do these have cells? No. However, we must note that all living things require certain things in oreder to live. Humans require oxygen, fats, and water. Plants need sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. This is where it starts to get a little shaky. Constructs need energy to live. In this sense, they are alive... to a degree. Where it really gets complicated is the matter of sentient constructs. A sentient construct is a construct that functions as a friend or a partner. For this reason, they are also known as familiar constructs. The reason it gets complicated is that it doesn't just need energy to live. A sentient can walk, talk, see, and even fight (I would soo love to make a psionic pokemon). There are also other functions it can have. If you give your sentient a chakra system, it can even have feelings. Sentients can have a memory, and even make choices, too. You can teach a sentient techniques, on top of that (Oh... psionic pokemon!)
Now, this makes it super tricky to understand. A sentient has a specialized function. This makes it like a cell in a multicellular organism, as it has one function. This makes it just as alive as a cell. The only thing is, cells are living, but not really alive... It's a difficult concept, but you'll eventually understand it. In my opinion, however, they are as alive as you and I.
Some Good Constructs to Try:
- A bottle rocket
- A spinning top
- A model plane
- A skipping stone
- A racquetball
I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN WITH THIS!

P.S. I really hope this gets to 'Other Powers'.

Sir I Still Dont Get It And I Still dont understand how you make your robots
Wow, this is still beyond my abilities. I'll have to work hard on this one day.
I nearly died laughing at the turtle metaphor!
This is a great article! I'm going to make an awesome construct (even though I can't tell if I'm actually making a psiball or not).
Nice article fgopl... just a question. How would you make a Sentient comsteuct? Ive heard so much of it,but mot how to do it. Could you email me the techmique? If so, thanks fgopl. And again, the article is great! :D
I am not completely understanding... What exactly does a construct do... Does it just sit there and do nothing if it was Ina basket ball or does it help you shoot hoops... Or like another one of fgopl's examples... A spinning top, if I tell it to stop spinning after 5 seconds will it stop because I programmer it to or will it do something else??? I must have missed something cause I am confused
Yes, you can... I made a BJ ball, cuz UMADBRO dared me.
So can i have Sex with the Robot thing? :D
Um... You can, but it pry would not move, unless you pumped a massive amount of energy.
Can u put a construct inside an object eg make a clayman and program him to do things?
Sentinent constructs that can fight and makes it's own choices. What if it decides to beat the crap out of you? Solution: psionic pokemon skills! Goooo Pikasion!
Hehe now I have like 20 psi guardballs in my house slender man aint gettin in here or any other spiritat that
I AM SOOOOOO MAKING A PSI WOLF PARTNEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!
THNX BUD!!! *sob sob, crying sound* MY NAME NO IN COOL DUDES ARTICLE, WAAAAAAAA!!! :~(
*sobs* I wasn't mentioned T^T XD Thankyou! I had no idea how to make a construct. Now I do, and can now rule mankind with Psionicmon! *maniacally laughs*
This is actually pretty darn good, I think you and me could do some pretty cool projects together :) I got some stuff that you might enjoy since your a constructs tyoe of man :P
PM me yo.
add more energy.or program it to be visible.
what i meant by sense was scan.in other words scan the area for it's energy.or you can do the alternative of making it visible.the alternative seems easier to me lol.
how do you sense it if it is not touching you...
why not just make a familiar with the ability to shrink in size so it feed on so little energy that you cant even tell energy is gone?
Spaazik i think you can sense the energy to see if it is there.or you can add enough energy to make it visible
You should also add " How to know HOW THE HELL to know if your construct is there."
hah.i like how you used me in the examples.great article.this combined with my snake idea just might work out.
I am going to make a spinner or gyro of some sort
but thats is beast i hope some more people comment so this makes it into the other powers section.....hell lactokinesis made it there why shouldnt this
and honda sucks..... ford is okay(first on race day....fixed on race day....found on road dead)
get it
haha no comments .....this isnt gonna be in the other powers section
